PT Elnusa Trans Samudera (ETSA) was established on 8 November 2013 at Graha Elnusa Jakarta in the presence of Notary Ariani L. Rachim for its Deed of Establishment. ETSA is a subsidiary of PT. Elnusa Tbk. with 90% of ownership, which engages in marine support services specifically in providing operational support services for companies in offshore energy sector including oil and gas. Services offered by ETSA includes sea truck, sea bus, crew boat, tug boat, LCT, accommodation barge, and various other services.

The establishment of ETSA was in accordance with strategic directives set forth in Elnusa’s Company Long Term Plan (CLTP/RJPP) 2013-2017 to increase recurring income and business development with existing customers.

In 2014, ETSA owned 7 fleets of Elnusa Samudra 1-7 which were intended to support all barges operational requirements.

In 2015, ETSA had additional vessel named Elnusa Samudra 8 (ELSA 8) which was designed to meet the needs for Accommodation Work Barge (snubbing & cementing services). ELSA 8 was assembled in accordance with European Union Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) – Euro III/Stage IIIA & Tier 3 standard, allowing it to emit less carbon emission and thus environmentally friendly. ELSA 8 also uses energy-saving solar panel as alternative lighting system which were installed in all engine and navigation rooms. ELSA 8’s engine generator was specially designed to use only biodiesel as its source of energy.

ELSA 8’s advanced & powerful features earned it Gold Category award as a recognition for Elnusa’s innovation as a subsidiary of PERTAMINA. In addition to previous achievement, ELSA 8 also garnered attention and earned recognition from Indonesian government as one of “20 Karya Unggulan Anak Bangsa 2015” in the 20th National Technology Day, directly awarded by the 3rd President of the Republic of Indonesia, B. J. Habibie with Minister of Research, Technology and Higher Education, to Elnusa’s Director of Operations, Bambang H. Kardono.

In 2016, ETSA had one additional vessel to its fleet, MV. ELSA REGENT which was intended as a Seismic Survey Vessel. The vessel is the biggest seismic ship in Indonesia which able to perform 2D and 3D seismic projects.
